Structures

The other day we studied structures.  It all started when we went to Penang and Yusuf was really interested in the bridges there.   Since I'm not too strong in science, we watched a Bill Nye the Science Guy video on YouTube about Structures, you can find it here.  It was pretty interesting and we ended up doing a cool science experiment afterwards by testing the strength of an egg, which mashallah is pretty strong!  Both boys took turns stepping on real, raw eggs and they didn't even crack.  The trick was to make sure their weight was distributed evenly so I lifted them up and placed them on top.
We also used a bunch of our recycled material to make a mesjid :)  I feel so weird not recycling here (facilities are pretty rare in Malaysia)  so I have one big cupboard filled with cardboard boxes and water bottles etc and told the boys they are more than welcome to take whatever they'd like.
